Court22 connects players with the venues they play at - but the two sides often come to the product with very different goals.
Players want to find a court, book and get playing with as little friction as possible. Venue operators want to promote activities, build loyalty and create reasons for players to keep coming back.

My role was often about finding the balance: protecting the player’s core journey while creating meaningful opportunities for venues to engage their players.

The previous home screen primarily worked as a starting point for navigating the product.
During the redesign, I wanted it to do more than help players navigate - I wanted it to help them act.
Since booking is one of the player's core tasks, I introduced relevant court availability directly on the home screen, creating a more direct path from opening the app to starting a booking.

Refining the booking journey.
Refining the booking journey.
I explored multiple design directions to simplify the booking journey, evaluating what information to surface, how availability should be presented, and how players could move seamlessly between Home, the venue page, and the booking flow.

Creating a home for every venue.
Creating a home for every venue.
While Home was designed to support the player's immediate goals, the venue page created a dedicated space for deeper engagement.
I designed the page and its information architecture to bring together booking, activities, purchases, and practical information into a cohesive experience - making it easy for players to interact with a venue while giving operators meaningful opportunities to showcase their offering.

Creating value without adding friction.
Creating value without adding friction.
The booking journey created an opportunity to support venue revenue without compromising the player experience.
I integrated an optional shopping step where players could add products and rentals before confirming their booking. By making the step relevant, lightweight, and easy to skip, it complemented the booking flow while giving venues a simple way to promote additional services.

The player profile was designed to give players a meaningful overview of their activity and progress over time.
I brought together skill level, recent matches, performance trends, friends, and followed venues into a single, intuitive experience - making it easy to track development at a glance while strengthening each player's connection to the platform.

League play gives players an ongoing competition to return to, beyond individual bookings and matches.

Managing recurring training sessions involves coordinating players, groups, courts, and schedules - often across dozens of sessions at once.
I designed the training planner to bring these interconnected workflows into a single workspace, giving venue operators a clear overview while making everyday tasks faster, simpler, and easier to manage.

Four years. One evolving product.
Four years. One evolving product.
Over four years, Court22 has evolved from an early-stage product into a multi-platform experience serving both players and venue operators across Europe.
Working with the product over time has taught me that good product design rarely comes from solving one need in isolation. It comes from understanding how user needs, business goals and technical realities affect each other - and knowing what to prioritise.
My role has grown alongside the product, from designing individual experiences to taking ownership of the wider design direction and creating greater consistency across the ecosystem.
